Description: The object of the program is the automation and centralization of the debt collection processes, as well as the improvement of the operation of the tax and customs administration in the income sector, through the development and operation of an integrated information system for monitoring, managing and automating the procedures entailed by the debts and the provision of increased quality of services to the trading citizens.

Purposes: The purpose of the project is for the Greek tax administration to develop an automated process for managing debts, so as to be able to immediately guarantee the settlement of a significant part of them.  At the same time, the project aims at improving the working conditions of those responsible for the collection of overdue debts. In this context, it is necessary to gather all the available information focused on the debtor (the debtor’s profile), activating voluntary and forced collection procedures.

Expected benefits: The minimum expected measurable results of the act are the following:

  • Creation of a centralized information system for monitoring and managing debt.
  • Increase of the number of e-tax services provided for citizens and businesses.Percentage of citizens and businesses using e- tax – customs services: 100%
  • Increase of the efficiency of the collection work and improvement of the working environment of auditors, tax compliance and Facilitation of the decision-making process by using valid and timely administrative information.
  • Facilitation and optimization of collection processes by reducing processing time and cost for traders.
  • Increase of revenue and decrease of operational costs of the State.

Direct beneficiaries:

  • Taxpayers (natural, legal persons and other entities):
  • implification of the collection mechanism procedures, full digitization of transactions with IAPR
  • Personnel in the competent IAPR departments: simplification of daily operation procedures aiming at the increase of their productivity

Indirect beneficiaries:

  • Ministries and Bodies of the wider Public Sector and other third parties:
  • Simplification of the collection mechanism processes and provision of data for cross-checks.
