Tobacco products - related products - electronic cigarette
Tobacco products and related products including e-cigarettes are regulated in law 4419 / 2016 (Government Gazette 174 / a / 20.9.2016) : "Adaptation of Greek legislation to Directive 2014/40 / EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 3 April 2014 on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco products and related products and repealing Directive 2001/37/EC (no. L 127/1 of 29.4.2014), as Annex II to that directive was amended by Commission Delegated directive 2014/109/EU of 10 October 2014 amending Annex II to Directive 2014/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the council by establishing the library of picture warnings to be used for tobacco products, as well as other relevant provisions', as amended and in force.The competent National Authority is the Ministry of Health.
The General Chemical State Laboratory is appointed to the competent national authorities, the competent market surveillance authorities, as well as responsible for laboratory physico-chemical control and control of the classification, labeling and packaging of products falling under the provisions of the law.
A laboratory for verification of measurements for tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide emissions of cigarettes is also appointed.
The provisions of law 4419/2016 are without prejudice to the provisions of Regulations (EC) 1907/2006 “REACH” and (EC) 1272/2008 “CLP”, as in force.
