Brief Resume
Christos Kotsogiannis is a Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics at the University of Exeter Business School, University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, where he served as the President from 2011 until 2014. He is the Director and Principal Investigator of the Tax Administration Research Center and Research Center (TARC), which is funded and supported by the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), the HM Treasury (HMT) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). TARC focuses its research on issues related to tax administration, with the purpose of enhancing the theoretical and empirical understanding of the phenomenon of tax evasion and of tax practices and policies in general.
He has been a Scientific Associate of International Organizations and is the editor of the scientific journal CESifo Economic Studies and a member of the editorial team of the Journal of Tax Administration (JOTA). His research activity focuses on Public Finances and particularly on issues of understanding the phenomenon of tax evasion, measuring the tax gap, tax competition and tax harmonization. He has a rich scientific work and his articles are published in prestigious international journals. He holds a Master's Degree (MSc.) and a Doctorate (PhD) from the University of Essex, United Kingdom.
