Interesting information for consumers
(Beta version)
- All the materials that surround us - our furniture, computer screens and the clothes we wear - are a mixture of different chemicals. It is useful for consumers to have access to information on risk assessment and safe use of chemicals in our daily lives.
- Substances which, because of their toxicological properties, are of high concern to consumers and the environment, are prohibited from being placed on the market or used in a production process within the European Union unless an authorisation has been granted.
- In addition to chemicals/mixtures, articles are also subject to chemical regulations. Articles containing substances on the Candidate List as being of high concern for human health and the environment, as well as articles that release substances (e.g. perfumed articles) are subject to specific provisions of the REACH Regulation.
- Only explosive articles are labelled according to CLP. Articles, which act as containers/carriers of substances or mixtures, are labelled according to the classification of the substance/mixture they contain/carry. For the classification of an article in the category of container/carrier of a substance or mixture, the logic diagram described in the relevant ECHA guidance document shall be applied.
