REACH & CLP: conference for industry stakeholders

The Independent Authority for Public Revenue strengthens cooperation with industry stakeholders, promoting compliance with European regulatory requirements and ensuring sustainable development and the safety of citizens and businesses.

The General Directorate of the General Chemical State Laboratory (GD GCSL) of IAPR, as the competent national Authority for the implementation of the European REACH and CLP Regulations, held on 16/12 an online seminar entitled "REACH / CLP: Role in the supply chain – Οbligations - European control programs 2025".

The conference was attended by over 125 representatives of industry bodies and other interested organizations, reflecting the importance of the issue for the operation of the supply chain and the protection of public health, with key points on the agenda being:

  • update of Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation
  • participation of the GD of the General Chemical State Laboratory in the implementation control programs of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for 2025
  • importance of identifying the role of each company in the supply chain in order to comply with the respective obligations arising from the REACH and CLP Regulations
  • process of adapting national legislation on the proportionality of sanctions, with the aim of adapting fines to the size of businesses

The conference was introduced by Ms. Mercedes Viñas, Director of Submissions and Interaction of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and greetings were delivered by Ms. Sofia Zissi, Director General of the GCSL and Ms. Eftychia Dima, Head of the Energy, Industrial and Chemical Products Division.
