Definitions
Cash System
The system used by the entity referred to in Article 1 of Law 4308/2014 to issue revenue transaction documents with the possibility of issuing/creating other documents to monitor collections and refunds for itself and on behalf of third parties.
Means of Payment
The personalized device and/or sequence of processes agreed between the Payment Service User and the Payment Service Provider (Acquirer), used to initiate a card payment order. In particular, all available devices (e.g., wired POS terminal, mobile POS), methods and applications (e.g., soft POS) that can be used to accept cards both with the physical presence of a card and without the physical presence of a card (e-commerce platforms).
User of payment services
The entity referred to in Article 1 of Law 4308/2014 that uses card payment processing services as a beneficiary.
Payment Service Provider (Acquirer)
The legal entity that provides services for the execution of payment transactions, with a payment card (credit, debit, prepaid, etc.). Card acceptance services are provided on behalf of the Payment Service Provider to a contracted entity under article 1 of Law 4308/2014, in order for the latter to be able to accept the payment of the price of the goods and/or services, through the use of payment cards.
Payment Network Service Provider  (NSP)
The legal entity that is active in the provision and management of POS terminals as well as the provision of services that include the connection of POS terminals to the entities subject to Article 1 of Law 4308/2014, the provision and installation of software on the terminals, maintenance/repair services on the terminal, as well as the collection and routing of transactions on behalf of the Payment Service Providers (Acquirer). The Payment Network Service Provider (NSP) may contract both with a Payment Service Provider (Acquirer) and directly with the obliged entities of article 1 of Law 4308/2014.
Basic Interface Rule
The condition that allows the completion of transactions carried out with the use of means of payment, exclusively and only in the event that the issuance of the relevant documents per transaction has been completed and the corresponding data has been transmitted to the myDATA digital platform, through appropriate methods of interface of the Cash Systems, Payment Means and Payment Service Providers (Acquirer) with IAPR, as Payment Means are not allowed to operate independently.
Unique Payment Identity
The unique number generated by the Payment Means and finalized by them in the event that each transaction is approved by the Provider of Payment Services (Acquirer) and before the transmission of the relevant data to the myDATA digital platform. The Unique Payment Identity documents the uniqueness of Payment Means transactions through its association with the documents issued/created by the Payment Service Users’ Cash System, in accordance with the Basic Interface Rule and uniquely associated with the Electronic Document Provider Services (YPAHES) Payment Signature (Provider's Signature) or the Online Tax Mechanism (FIM) Payment Signature with a software system (ERP) - (ECR Token).

In the case of issuing documents through an Electronic Document Issuance Service Provider (YPAHES), the Provider, using secret key asymmetrical cryptography, according to the ECC algorithm (Eldivptic Curve Cryptography) and key length 256 divits, returns to the software system (ERP) of the Payment Services User, signature (Provider's Signature) for the specific transaction so that it can be completed respecting the Basic Interface Rule.
FIM Payment Signature with software system (ERP) - (ECR Token)
When issuing documents via an Online Tax Mechanism (FIM), the details of each payment transaction sent through a relevant protocol command from the ERP to the cash system, are unique with all the individual details of the transaction and are encrypted with the applicable encryption algorithm listed under Decision 1098/2022 Decision of the Governor of IAPR. The FIM returns to the software system (ERP) of the Payment Service User, with which it cooperates, the generated Payment Signature (ECR Token) so that the transaction can be completed respecting the Basic Interface Rule.

The architecture and documentation of the technical implementation process of the Basic Interface Rule.
Declaration of Conformity
The Declaration of Conformity that Payment Service Providers (Acquirers) and Payment Network Service Providers (NSPs) are obliged to digitally submit to IAPR, by submitting it, they confirm full compliance of the Interface Method they follow to the Basic Interface Rule.
